Leila Abolhelm was born in Tehran, Iran in 1982.
She holds a B.A. in Photography from the Art and Architecture Azad University of Tehran (2006).
After moving to Canada in 2014, she returned to photography with a renewed focus on street photography and nature, where she explores light, form, and spontaneous moments in everyday life.
For Leila, photography is an act of presence — “a way of waiting for the right moment to reveal itself.” Walking through the city with her camera, she captures scenes and details that resonate with her visually and emotionally. She believes, as the saying goes, that “the purpose of art is to make the unconscious conscious.”
